Pastor's Page
Pastor Smithey and his wife, Teresa, along with their two children, Tiffany and Chris Jr. (CJ), 
came to pastor Curtis Road Church of God in December of 2002. They have been married since July 1978. Since coming to Champaign there have been several changes in their family. In 2009, they proudly welcomed Kyle Koester into our family as their son-in-law. In 2011 there were two more additions to their family as they welcomed their two grandchildren, Mckenzie and Carson.
Pastor Chris has spent most of his life in ministry, preaching his first sermon at the age of twelve. Most of his ministry has been spent in Arkansas serving three churches as Pastor and one as Assistant Pastor prior to coming to Illinois. In addition, he has served on many elected and appointed boards in both Arkansas and Illinois. Currently, he serves on the State Council and is Chairman of Ministerial Development.
His educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Business Management. He also has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Church of God Theological Seminary. He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry in Church Leadership at Oral Roberts University.
